Growth Means Opportunity

Do you think it’s time Tauranga had a future-focused council which looks at the big picture?

So do I.

Do you also think Tauranga’s ratepayers deserve experienced, trustworthy, and fearless councillors to stand up for them?

Me too.

Do you want Councillors who will work together and put the people of Tauranga first and foremost?

Absolutely.

Tauranga needs cohesive and strategic leadership from our Mayor and nine councillors.

It’s up to YOU to choose the right people to govern the financial and diverse community needs of our city.

I believe the people of Tauranga want the following from their Councillors

Ratepayers need Councillors to be their champions, to stand up for them.

Councillors who advocate for a culture of listening, consulting, planning, and consulting again, before implementation of projects.

Councillors to work in a team that’s looking forward without ego or agendas.

As we move from commissioners to local democracy, Councillors who are able to get up to speed quickly, represent our diverse communities and manage our rapid growth.

About Me

Why I am standing for Arataki

I’ve put my hand up to stand as a councillor for Arataki because I want to ensure there is a shared vision for a more connected and prosperous city.

We all need to be positive about our growth and see the opportunity that growth brings including new schools, hospitals, health care, business growth, growing the arts, and sports facilities.

Why should you vote for me?

I have a strong track record in making sound economic decisions as a Hastings District councillor from 2013–2017, and a business owner for 25 years, I know what’s needed to ensure good governance.

Voters need to remember that Tauranga City is a complex business with an annual income of $538 million, $7 billion of assets and $1.2 billion dollars of debt.

As we move from Commissioners running the city to local democracy, Tauranga needs experienced Councillors who can get up to speed quickly and who strongly advocate for a ‘consult and listen’ culture.

My experience

With over 20 years management experience, including building 3 start-up businesses, I have gained an extensive understanding of all areas of business practices.

My consultative and inclusive approach has guaranteed success. My passion lies in achieving results through hard work, relationship building, professionalism, and good old-fashioned customer service, which will be important in a Councillor role.
